We welcome the decision of the President of the Republic, Head of State

We welcome the decision of the President of the Republic, Head of State, to grant pardons today to several political leaders who had been convicted by the Chadian courts.

This decision represents an important step toward appeasement, national reconciliation, and the strengthening of our country’s unity. It also contributes to creating an environment conducive to dialogue and to bringing together all the vital forces of the nation.

Chad needs the commitment and contribution of all its sons and daughters to address the challenges it faces and to resolutely pursue its development.
