Lazina

The Honorable Mahamat Ahmat Lazina, born in N'Djamena, the capital of Chad, to a father from the Chari-Baguirmi Province and a mother from the Hadjer Lamis Province, is a versatile professional whose career bridges information technology, public administration, and political engagement.

Educated in Canada at the University of Waterloo, the University of Toronto, and La Cite Collegiale in Ottawa, he developed strong expertise in information technology, systems, networks, and mobile technologies.

His public career includes service as Minister of Environment and later Minister of Youth and Entrepreneurial Leadership. On December 29, 2024, he was elected Member of Parliament for Dourbali.

MNCT Founding & Authorization

He founded the MNCT in 2011 with other democratic actors. The party received official authorization on November 19, 2014.

Democratic Opposition & Reform

As a candidate in the 2016 presidential election and a leader in the democratic opposition, he contributed to electoral and institutional reform efforts, including within the CNDP.

Ministerial Responsibilities

He joined the transitional government in May 2021 and notably served as Minister of Environment, where climate and sustainable development initiatives received international recognition.

National Assembly & Political Dialogue

Elected Member of Parliament for Dourbali on December 29, 2024, he was appointed in March 2025 as Vice-President of the National Assembly commission for Communication, Telecommunications, and New Technologies.
